Welcome back to the third season of the Kalgoorlie Runners. We've had great numbers so far and are keen to continue for many years to come. All we need is YOU!!!
The Kalgoorlie Runners has been established by a local group of keen runners with the aim to provide a friendly, social, varied and challenging environment through which all runners can train and participate. The group promotes the benefits of running and exercising with others who share a common interest yet allows and encourages individuals to be responsible for monitoring their own running progress and goals. There is no formal membership or fees involved.
The group conducts 3 weekly sessions:
Tuesday evening (5:00pm) - Karlkurla Park: An interval based training session which focuses on pace.
Thursday evening (5:00pm) - Oasis playing fields: A training session which focuses on speed & skills.
Sunday morning (9:00am) - A group session which offers a short (approx 5km) and a long (approx 10km) distance course from a variety of locations. These Sunday morning sessions are organised group runs commencing at 9:00am sharp and are coordinated and conducted by one nominated group member.
The aim of all sessions is to provide a fun, supportive and productive environment through which all participants can enjoy and improve their running.
Runners of all abilities are welcome and should refer to the group's calendar which is valid from the 29th April until the 23rd September 2012. The calendar provides details on the date, venue, a map link and appropriate contact person for each session.
